about me

I’m Sarah Lauterbach, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.  I am a recovering perfectionist, beach lover (Atlantic only, Pacific is too cold), fur baby owner (two shelter dogs and cats), and mother to two young children.  I enjoy exercising, watching Netflix, shows like Westworld and The Wire (best show ever!), and reading Stephen King novels.

I grew up with three brothers and a dad.  I would have been considered a “tom boy” since I preferred to play in the mud and climb trees rather than wear pretty dresses and play with baby dolls.  When I became a new mom I really depended on my husband to help with our babies.  Fathers are more active than they have ever have been before in raising children.  They may be overlooked when it comes to PMADs (Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders).  I hope to use my skills and tom boy nature to help new fathers.

I am originally from the East Coast (North Carolina) but have called California my home for the last ten years.  I have lived abroad (England) and went to college in the Northeast (Pennsylvania).  I graduated with a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University in 2013.
